Autumn Work

There is a lot of field work to get done at this time of year. The last few days older daughter has been doing a lot of the ploughing. I walked out in the late afternoon sun to see how she was getting on.

The sun was lying very low and I managed to catch some of the birds hovering around the plough.

Over the other side of the field are stubble turnips which will be used as feed for the sheep but made a good background for a photo yesterday.

  1. Yes it is a busy time of year ... I enjoy turnip & have always found it interesting that it took years for people to eat since it was such a staple in the diet of animals on the farm. Glad we discovered how tasty.
