Saying Goodbye

Yesterday was a sad day for all the family. It was time to say goodbye to our wonderful dog Monty. He has been part of our family for the past 11 years throughout  the girls' teenage years.

He has always been loved by them and responded with gentle loyalty.

He always tolerated the cats antics around him.

And made a particularly good cushion.

It has also been a day of reflection and laughs at all his various antics. How he loved to wander off down the drive as soon as my back was turned. He had a reputation for jumping in visiting cars and pinching food, doughnuts, cakes, dog biscuits. This was particularly embarrassing when it was a customer! He had a smile for everyone that visited.

He was the cheeky youngster who stole a remote control, a mobile phone, numerous hairbrushes and shoes from the house. All were taken down to his 'patch' under the apple tree to be chewed up if one of us didn't get there first.
More recently he has even had followers on my blog.

Over the weekend he received plenty of love from our many visitors.

I am pretty sure he will be remembered with great affection by not only us but by many visitors to the farm.
